About Shannon

I wanted a pair of simple, turquoise earrings.  I searched and searched for what I had in mind to no avail...so I made them.  And that is how it all began.  I still have those earrings, fifteen years later.  I began creating jewelry and a passion quickly ensued.

After several metalsmithing classes @ New Orleans School of Metalsmithing, wax carving & stone setting sessions @ Creative Side Jewelry Studio in Austin...I was hooked!  The craft became a love, a peaceful feeling deep within. It was a calling-a gift. I am drawn to and embrace simplicity, a minimalistic style, an easiness of wearing pieces that just sit on the background of the canvas.  I feel truly blessed to be able to create what I love and share it.  And to have it bring joy to others...well that's the best.

THE CROSS

I am inspired by the Cross, and all its infinite beauty, meanings and treasures. Each one is made in studio, so no two are exactly alike.  Much like us...imperfect yet perfect.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION

I am inspired to create fine, elegant, timeless, uncomplicated pieces that bring joy to the wearer and the gifter alike.  Pieces that connect souls.  It is that simple.

WHAT'S WITH THE AG

The AG on my jewelry tag stands for Amazing Grace...I felt the need to give the Glory to God.  He is amazing and each day gives us new grace, no matter what.  So I decided that's what's going on the tag...then I realized, it is my mom's initials. So there you go, it was meant to be.

MADE IN THE USA

I work from my studio in Lafayette, Louisiana, using time-honored metalsmithing techniques.  From hammering to melting to soldering, everything about working with metal fascinates and delights me.  A classic band, cuff, bangle or hoop is timeless...a family heirloom cherished for generations.  Sprinkle it with diamonds, turquoise, pearls...well that's lagniappe.

GREW UP WHERE

I am a proud Catholic and Cajun, grew up in Cecilia, Louisiana...a little town with huge heart and awesome people!  And Cher, we sure do know how to pass a good time yea!

I am a mom, to one fine and incredible young man, a social worker and metalsmith/jewelry designer.  I live in Lafayette with Kitty (our cat) and Josie (our Morkie)…and my LSU Freshman just moved to Baton Rouge... Geaux Tigers!

I am blessed beyond measure.
